Terms of Service

By accessing or using NexPaths ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. NexPaths is operated by NexPaths Inc. ("we", "us", "our").

NexPaths is an AI-powered career intelligence platform that provides:

• Resume analysis, scoring, and AI-powered optimization
• Job matching, job dossier reports, and offer comparison tools
• Skill gap assessment and AI displacement risk scoring
• Salary intelligence and negotiation strategies
• Interview preparation and career coaching
• CareerDNA profiles and Acceleration Score tracking
• NexPaths Spotlight — a creator program where users produce short-form career videos
• NexPaths Academy — structured learning courses curated from Spotlight content and original material
• Creator Collections — mini-courses built by eligible Spotlight creators
• Content Request Board — community-driven topic requests and voting
• Ghosting accountability, employer transparency scores, and the Ghost Hall of Shame
• Private recruiter messaging with consent-based outreach
• Gamification including XP, levels, badges, daily challenges, and leaderboards

Features vary by subscription tier (Free, Starter, Pro, Elite).

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service
• One person per account — sharing accounts is not permitted
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is available and recommended for account security

• Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Elite) are billed monthly or annually through Stripe
• Annual billing offers a discount equivalent to 2 months free
• You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period
• Prices may change with 30 days' notice
• Refunds are handled per our Refund & Cancellation Policy
• Students and displaced workers receive 50% off all paid plans with a verified .edu email
• Free tier features may be modified or limited at our discretion
• Employer job postings: basic listings are free; sponsored placements are $19 per posting

The NexPaths Spotlight program allows eligible users to create short-form career videos (60–180 seconds). By participating, you agree to:

• Content ownership: You retain full ownership of your videos. By uploading, you grant NexPaths a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform, including curation into Academy courses
• Creator tiers: Creators progress through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers based on their Weighted Engagement Score (WES). Higher tiers unlock larger revenue shares and additional perks (e.g., Creator Collections, priority Academy curation)
• Earnings & payouts: Spotlight creators share in a monthly creator fund ($2,500 pool). Payouts are proportional to WES and are distributed monthly. Academy engagement on your content also feeds back into your WES
• Content guidelines: Videos must be career-related, original, and comply with our Community Guidelines. Content that is misleading, hateful, harmful, or unrelated to careers will be removed
• Academy curation: NexPaths may curate your Spotlight videos into Academy courses. You will always receive full attribution and earn from Academy engagement on your content
• Revenue transparency: Creator earnings breakdowns (Spotlight views vs. Academy engagement) are visible in your creator dashboard
• NexPaths reserves the right to remove content or revoke creator status for violations of these terms

The Academy provides structured courses, modules, and lessons curated from Spotlight creator content and original educational material.

• Academy access varies by tier: Free users get 2 courses/day, Starter gets 5/day, Pro gets 20/day, and Elite gets unlimited access
• Academy content includes articles, videos, quizzes, exercises, and checklists
• XP rewards are earned for completing lessons and courses
• Learning paths provide guided course sequences for career goals
• Creator-sourced lessons always display the original creator's name and tier
• Engagement on Academy content (views, saves, ratings) feeds back to the original Spotlight creator's metrics

• Creator Collections: Gold and Platinum tier creators can build mini-courses from their own Spotlight videos (max 5 collections, 20 videos each). Collections require at least 3 videos and are subject to review before publication
• Content Request Board: Users can request topics for Spotlight and Academy content. Requests can be upvoted by the community. Requested topics may be fulfilled by any eligible creator
• Content requests must be career-related and follow Community Guidelines
• NexPaths does not guarantee that all content requests will be fulfilled

NexPaths includes community features such as:

• Networking and connection requests
• Company reviews and ghosting reports
• Content commenting and ratings
• Community content requests and voting
• Leaderboards and public profiles

When using community features, you agree to:

• Be truthful and accurate in reviews, reports, and content
• Not submit fake reviews, fraudulent ghosting reports, or manipulate ratings
• Not harass, bully, or impersonate other users
• Not post spam, advertisements, or off-topic content
• Report violations through the platform's reporting tools

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload malicious content, malware, or attempt to exploit the platform
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
• Abuse AI features by submitting non-resume content or attempting prompt injection
• Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service
• Harass, impersonate, or harm other users
• Manipulate engagement metrics, WES scores, or leaderboard rankings through artificial means
• Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent tier limits or abuse free-tier features

You retain ownership of all content you upload (resumes, documents, videos, reviews, etc.). By uploading content, you grant NexPaths a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process, display, and distribute it for the purpose of providing the Service. This includes:

• Processing resumes and documents through AI for analysis and scoring
• Displaying Spotlight videos to platform users and curating them into Academy courses
• Showing your reviews and ratings publicly on the platform
• Using aggregated, anonymized data to improve the Service

AI-generated outputs (analyses, recommendations, cover letters, dossiers) are provided for your personal use. NexPaths retains no ownership of AI outputs generated from your content.

NexPaths uses AI (including Anthropic's Claude) to generate career insights, recommendations, resume analyses, dossier reports, and other content. While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated content is guidance only and should not be considered professional career, legal, or financial advice
• You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use
• AI displacement risk scores are estimates based on available data and may not reflect actual job market conditions
• Salary data and negotiation strategies are based on aggregated information and should be validated independently

Employers and recruiters using NexPaths agree to:

• Post accurate and truthful job listings
• Respond to applicants in a timely manner — companies that consistently ghost applicants may be publicly flagged in the Ghost Hall of Shame
• Only contact candidates through the platform's consent-based messaging system
• Not discriminate in hiring based on protected characteristics
• Comply with all applicable employment and labor laws
• NexPaths may verify employer accounts and may reject or remove listings that violate these terms

NexPaths includes gamification features (XP, levels, badges, daily challenges, leaderboards). These are designed to encourage engagement and career development:

• XP and badges have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash
• Leaderboard rankings are based on legitimate platform activity
• NexPaths may adjust XP values, badge criteria, or challenge mechanics at any time
• Manipulating or gaming the XP system through artificial means may result in account penalties

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points:

• Video content uploaded to Spotlight is stored securely and streamed via our platform
• Career profile data (CareerDNA) is only shared with recruiters when you opt in
• AI processing of your data is used solely to provide the Service — your data is never used to train AI models
• You can export or delete your data at any time through Settings

NexPaths is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. This includes but is not limited to:

• Accuracy of AI-generated content, salary data, or career recommendations
• Outcomes of job applications, interviews, or negotiations
• Actions taken by employers, recruiters, or other users on the platform
• Availability or accuracy of Spotlight or Academy content
• Creator earnings or fund distributions

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through Settings. Upon termination:

• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days, except as required by law
• Published Spotlight content may remain accessible to Academy learners with your creator attribution preserved
• Pending creator payouts will be processed in the next payout cycle
• Active subscription will continue until the end of the billing period

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit. Small claims court actions are exempt from this provision.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
